Buffalo Trace, a craft distillery from Kentucky USA has a unique experimental approach to creating its award winning bourbons. They’ve created a farm to table concept where much of the bourbon’s raw ingredients are locally grown on their farm while aging of the bourbons are within the farm warehouse. In order to optimize the aging process they are using a complex statistical analysis of over 40,000 data points to measure temperature, humidity, etc to come up with the perfect conditions for the perfect aged whiskey.

Nose: Gum, mint, molasses
Taste: Begins sweet and spicy, developing from brown sugar into anise, oak and fruit with a long, dry finish.

Named after the Great Buffalo Trace trail, where buffalos used to cross the Kentucky River, the Buffalo Trace Distillery has a diverse recipe portfolio (two rye bourbons, and whiskeys distilled from wheat, rye and barley) and the widest age range of any American distillery, with whiskeys aged from 4-23 years. Their signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon is aged nine years and has a distinctive sweetness due to high corn content.
